Chelsea fans laud ‘agent Drogba’ as Blues legend drops Victor Osimhen hint
The rumour mill is hard at work ahead of the January transfer window – and Didier Drogba may already be at work sowing seeds on Chelsea's behalf.
That's after the Blues legend once again talked up the talents of Napoli striker and supposed Chelsea target Victor Osimhen. The Nigeria international has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the past, and fans are convinced 'Agent Drogba' could have a hand to play in finally getting a deal over the line.
Drogba, 45, was recently asked by Sports Illustrated whom his favourite active player in the world is right now. And the Ivorian needed only a brief pause before replying the Napoli hitman – who has scored 64 goals in 110 appearances for the Italians – fits that bill.

And there were more than a few fans convinced the club icon's comments were a sign he's set to help in their transfer ambitions. One supporter even went so far as to suggest Drogba is "100% texting Osimhen and telling him to join us in January."
"Our agent for Osimhen OMG," wrote another in excitement. And a third instructed owner Todd Boehly to 'pay and don't speak' in the hopes of getting a quick deal over the line.
Chelsea were in the market for a striker over the summer and settled on Villarreal's Nicolas Jackson, who has scored twice for the club so far this season. However, Osimhen would represent a far more accomplished presence in attack.

The admiration between him and Drogba is mutual, too, after footage emerged earlier this year of the Napoli ace identifying the two-time African Footballer of the Year as his role model. Osimhen won the Golden Boot at the Under-17 World Cup in 2015 and said Drogba – who scored 164 goals in 381 appearances for Chelsea – was 'the kind of player he would like to be, as a player and as a person'.
Not only that, but Osimhen has more recently revealed he and Drogba have been in more personal contact as rumours of a Chelsea move build momentum. Despite the Blues' struggles on-field of late, the club's hallowed figure has seemingly been at work attempting to lure his fellow striker behind the scenes.

"[Drogba] has been so helpful," said the 24-year-old. "One morning last year I woke up and checked my Instagram, and found messages to me from him, complimenting me, but saying I still had a long way to go."
"It's amazing to be in contact with him. I try to model my game on his and there are a lot of things I can take from his game and add to my own, so there is nothing better for a young player."
