Chelsea flop Mykhaylo Mudryk told of ‘perfect’ January move to end Blues pain
Boehly's Chelsea revolution continues after £65m purchase for new stadium
Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has been told he has a “perfect” new club to join should he decide to leave Stamford Bridge in January, after a disappointing first few months in England. The 22-year-old joined the Blues ahead of Arsenal in a deal worth up to £88.5million in January as part of Todd Boehly and co’s mass spending spree, but he has so far failed to make the desired impact.
Mudryk is yet to score his first goal for Chelsea in 21 appearances, having lost his place earlier in the season to Ben Chilwell who was preferred on the wing by boss Mauricio Pochettino. Football London have claimed that the Blues will explore possible loan options for Mudryk in January should he fail to turn his career around at Stamford Bridge.
Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore believes that a move to Germany would be “perfect” for the Ukrainian, pouring cold water on a possible reunion with ex-Shakhtar Donetsk boss Roberto De Zerbi at Brighton amid fears that he would not play with competition from Kaoru Mitoma, Ansu Fati and Simon Adingra.
“I think he needs to drop down a tier but go and play for a club where the expectation to win week in and week out is just as high as it is at Chelsea,” Collymore wrote for CaughtOffside.

“Whether or not they’d have him is another matter, but I think Borussia Dortmund could be the perfect club to get Mudryk firing and on the right track to becoming the player he has the potential to be.
“I know Roberto De Zerbi is a big fan – he even said he could win the Ballon d’Or in the future, but I wouldn’t send him out on loan to another Premier League club. As for Brighton, it’d actually be an insult to the likes of Kaoru Mitoma to even suggest Mudryk could go there and get in the team ahead of him.

“Let’s not forget, this is a young player who played just 44 games for Shakhtar Donetsk before Chelsea signed him for nearly £90 million. Some players can live up to the hype, others can’t, and so far, Mudryk has massively failed.
“He can still fulfil his potential – he’s only 22 years old but he has to rack up more games before Chelsea can expect him to be their first-choice left winger. He is simply too inexperienced.”
Dortmund has proven to be a perfect landing spot for young players to develop into world-class stars, but whether Chelsea would be prepared to cut ties with Mudryk – albeit possibly only temporarily – remains to be seen, while the player’s stance on leaving Stamford Bridge also remains unknown.
