Chelsea travel to former manager Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham on Tuesday night in the Round of 16 of the Carabao Cup. Blues boss Frank Lampard has a number of players currently in the treatement room, but he could be set to restore some of them to his matchday squad including Christian Pulisic and Ben Chilwell.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard will be hoping to welcome back a number of players to contention ahead of Tuesday’s clash against Tottenham.
The Blues face a tricky Round of 16 tie at Spurs this week, but their plight might be helped by the return of the likes of Christian Pulisic and Chilwell.
Lampard has said that he will err on the side of caution when it comes to judging whether players are fit or not, as show by Ben Chilwell’s absence on Saturday.

“I believe they are fit enough to start,” he revealed. “But I also have to take into consideration the fact that we play another game with quite a tight turnaround on Tuesday and then another on Saturday, and then some players might play three games for their countries.
“I am managing that one. With Ben I might be a little bit more cautious to see, because his injury has been quite a challenging one.”
Expected return date: 3 Oct
It remains to be seen when new goalkeeper Mendy will be handed his debut amid Chelsea’s goalkeeping fiasco.
Lampard admitted the former Rennes had barely trained last week, but with a full week under his belt the trip to Palace might be the perfect time.

Moroccan winger Ziyech is also back in training, and could be handed a place on the bench against Spurs, but is more likely to be made to wait until the weekend.
The £36m arrival has been sidelined since appearing in a friendly against Brighton.

Young midfielder Gilmour is still expected to be out for some time with a knee injury.
Lampard said earlier this month: “Billy is obviously a longer term injury, he’ll be out for a couple of months more after the operation he had.”
Expected return date: 29 Sep
Chilwell is expected to make his full debut when he replaces Marcos Alonso at left-back in the Carabao Cup fourth round at Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.
The England international, who made a brief cameo appearance against Barnsley, had been out of action with a knee injury since July.
