Chelsea ‘prepare double transfer swap’ as Pochettino tries to offload Koulibaly

Chelsea are reportedly ready to offload Kalidou Koulibaly to Inter Milan as they attempt to secure a deal for goalkeeper Andre Onana. The defender could be one of two players the Blues sell to Inter, with Romelu Lukaku keen on staying with the Serie A club.

Incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to sign a goalkeeper this summer. Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy did not do enough this season to convince the Argentine that either of them are up to the task of being his No 1.

Chelsea have been linked with moves for goalkeepers at both the Milan clubs. AC Milan stopper Mike Maignan is reportedly a target.

However, recent reports have seen speculation over a move for Onana increase. And Chelsea could be prepared to offer a double swap deal in an attempt to get their man.

The Sun says Chelsea are looking to offload two players to Inter this summer. Lukaku has spent this season on loan at San Siro and could be set for a permanent return.

Meanwhile, Koulibaly could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge after just one season. The report says there have been talks regarding the Senegal international heading in the same direction as Lukaku.

Koulibaly finally made his move to the Premier League last summer, joining from Napoli for around £33million. However, he had a hugely underwhelming first season in English football and could be heading back to Italy.

Meanwhile, Lukaku is set for talks with Pochettino about his club future. But it is claimed he would prefer to stay in Milan next season.

Inter are said to value Onana at around £55m. The 27-year-old only made the move to Italy last summer after leaving Ajax on a free transfer.

The Serie A club are therefore set for a major profit on the former Cameroon international. Inter have already lined up Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario as a replacement for Onana.

Onana helped lead Inter to the Champions League final this season, where they were pipped to the trophy by Manchester City in Saturday’s final in Istanbul. After the match, Onana insisted he was happy at Inter but admits anything can happen this summer.

He told reporters: “I’m so, so happy at Inter. At this professional level you never know what happens.

“I’m available for Inter, they decide and I will accept what they want. I’m happy at Inter.”
