Chelsea have reportedly set the price that will see them allow Tammy Abraham to leave, as the out of favour striker heads for a departure. Abraham has struggled to break into the side since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard, though he remains the club’s top goalscorer.

Abraham has made just five appearances since the German took over, with most of those being from the bench.

It is a marked change in fortunes for the Englishman, who featured in the line up regularly when Lampard was manager.

Despite not hitting the back of the net since Boxing Day, Abraham is still the Blues’ top scorer, with 12 goals in all competitions.

But Tuchel has favoured Timo Werner and Kai Havertz at the head of his forward line, though neither have been consistent scorers.

With Abraham failing to impress Tuchel, it now appears that the Blues are ready to allow him to leave in the summer transfer window.

The Telegraph report that Chelsea will seek bids of around £40million, with the Blues believing they can still bring in a high fee with his contract not expiring until 2023.

Part of the reason for Stamford Bridge side demanding such a high fee is their expected pursuit of a striker in the summer window.

Both Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku are on their shopping list, but funds will need to be raised if they are to be signed.

Haaland has become one of Europe’s top strikers during his time at Borussia Dortmund, scoring 25 goals in 26 Bundesliga matches this season.

But with no release clause in his contract, it is believed that Dortmund will demand a fee in the region of £150m, with Manchester United and Real Madrid both interested in the Norwegian.

Lukaku meanwhile has scored more than 20 goals in two successive seasons for Inter Milan, helping to fire Antonio Conte’s side to the Serie A title this term.

But he is also expected to command a fee in excess of £100m, with the Belgian’s contract not up until 2024.

Though Abraham is not wanted by Tuchel, he is still one of the club’s most valuable assets, having proved his goalscoring ability.

The 23-year-old notched 18 goals in the top-flight last season and also impressed in loan moves to Bristol City and Aston Villa.

His availability has alerted several teams battling at the top of the Premier League table, with Leicester City and West Ham both reported to be eyeing a move.

Though Kelechi Iheanacho has found form in recent weeks, the Foxes still need a player to rival Jamie Vardy for a starting spot, while West Ham lack a consistent goalscorer up front.
