Sevilla have allegedly registered an interest in signing Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen, according to reports. The Andalusian club remain in negotiations with the European champions over the potential sale of Jules Kounde, who they value at close to £60million.

Chelsea remain unlikely to pay that in straight cash though at the moment and are therefore looking at ways to get around sweeten up the deal.

So far, the Blues are said to have shown a willingness to include both Emerson Palmieri and Kurt Zouma separately in the deal.

Sevilla turned down the chance to sign the Italian international full-back but Zouma is of interest to them.

However, the feeling is not believed to be mutual with Zouma keen on staying in the Premier League.

West Ham are now at the table with an offer of £20million and talks are ongoing.

According to The Athletic though, Chelsea centre-back Christensen is a player Sevilla would like.

But, it’s understood that the Blues want to tie the Dane down to a new deal and are in talks with his entourage.

Initially, Christensen was facing an uncertain future at Chelsea when Thomas Tuchel first arrived but now he is a fan of the 25-year-old.

As it stands, his current contract is set to expire next summer but there is no panic about his future.

Christensen wants to stay at the club though and has previously been linked with an exit on several occasions.

Chelsea have simply no interest in including Christensen in any deal to sign Kounde.

Even if swap deal talks falter due to Zouma’s stance on a move to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Chelsea will still pursue the 22-year-old by other means.

Selling Zouma to West Ham could provide them with a healthy cash injection though.

Kounde is believed to be Chelsea’s top target now with the chances of signing Erling Haaland looking slim.

He played down talk of a £150million bid a few days ago, urging potential buyers to keep their hands in their pockets if that’s what it will take to sign him.

Haaland is now expecting to stay at Dortmund for another season before his £64m release clause kicks in next summer.
