Chelsea to boost striking options with prolific Zambian, and Haaland latest

Fresh off the back of their Champions League success, Chelsea are expected to strengthen their squad as they look to replicate their European triumph domestically.

Chelsea were limping to the finale of the 20/21 campaign under Frank Lampard, before Thomas Tuchel arrived and delivered a top-four finish and Champions League victory to Stamford Bridge.

And Tuchel will be keen to add to his already star-studded squad as he looks to mount a serious challenge for his first Premier League title.

And Daily Star Sport has rounded up all the day's news for Chelsea into one article below…

Red Bull Star teases move

Red Bull has built a footballing empire over the past decade, and players such as Erling Haaland, Sadio Mane, and Timo Werner have all cut their teeth in red and white.

Patson Daka is the latest in a long line of talent from the Red Bull machine, and the striker retweeted a post on Twitter claiming Chelsea were set to sign him.

The Zambian bagged 34 goals and 12 assists in 42 appearances last campaign for Red Bull Salzburg.

Olivier Giroud update

Chelsea confirmed, last Friday, that they had triggered Olivier Giroud's one-year contract extension.

And, now, Milan News are reporting that Chelsea only triggered the £110,000-a-week contract as they were worried Giroud could move to bitter rivals Tottenham.

Milan are still confident – according to the report – and Chelsea only wanted to block a Spurs move.

All-in for Haaland

From a current Red Bull Salzburg striker to a former one: Chelsea are 'all-in' for Haaland, but they face a major obstacle.

Jan Aage Fjortoft – who is a former Norwegian footballer – is reporting: "The main obstacle could be the wage-structure at Chelsea."

However, Chelsea have ramped up their interest and see in the in-demand-youngster as their 'missing piece'.
