Christian Pulisic’s unexpected response when naming Chelsea’s fastest players
Christian Pulisic has named the fastest players at Chelsea.
The United States international, who is known for his dribbling ability and turn of pace, has even stated that he would not make the top two if they were to run 100m as a squad.
Frank Lampard’s side recently suffered a blip in form following a steady start to the new Premier League season, but a win over West Ham and draw against Aston Villa have them back on steady ground.
Pulisic has now answered some light-hearted questions before they take on Manchester City, and he has mentioned an unlikely name as one of the fastest at the club.
Pulisic told Sky Sports when asked who would win a 100m race: “That’s a good question.
“I think I would definitely put myself in the top-five, not number one, probably not number two, but top five.
“I know Fikayo [Tomori] is fast, Timo [Werner] is fast. There’s a lot of fast guys in the team.”
When asked who is the deadliest finisher, he added: “I would have to go with Olivier Giroud.
“[He’s a] lethal finisher, especially with first-time shots or volleys.
“He just always gets a clean contact on the ball. He’s really strong in front of goal.”
Lampard has said of their clash against City: "It's a game we want to win against very good opposition.
”They are going to be there or thereabouts. To be up there with him despite our recent run of form in the last few games is a plus and it's an opportunity to win a game against a competitor.
"We need to be at our best to win. In terms of their weaknesses? I don't see it.
“They are a very strong outfit; very well managed, they have threats in attacking areas. We need to focus on ourselves. If we're at our best, we can make weaknesses against any team."
