‘Crazy’ stat proves Chelsea star Kepa isn’t quite the flop fans think he is
Chelsea fans can't quite believe Kepa Arrizabalaga is just one game away from matching Thibaut Courtois' clean sheet tally at the Blues.
Kepa has kept 57 clean sheets at Stamford Bridge – one game away from matching the Belgian's 58 in fewer games. The Spanish shot-stopper has played 147 times for Chelsea, while Courtois was the made between the sticks 154 times.
Chelsea's current No1 now has six games to better Courtois' tally – and seven games to match it. And Chelsea fans are in disbelief at the stat proving Kepa isn't the flop that he's made out to be at times.

One fan tweeted: "The narrative that he's a bad goalkeeper needs to end!"
"This is why stats can be misleading cos I’m not sure I’ll ever be fully convinced by Kepa," a second added. While a third tweeted: "Truth be told, Courtois wasn't any special at Chelsea. He only had a better team around him!"
And a fourth said: "Mental stat. I do believe Kepa is hugely underrated by this fanbase. Thomas Tuchel stimulated the Kepa remontada, not going to lie!"

Chelsea have struggled this season, and Tuchel was dismissed by new owner Todd Boehly in favour of Graham Potter.
However, Potter has failed to inject any life into the Blues, and Chelsea are currently 10th in the Premier League – 12 points safe from the relegation zone.
The Blues had gone into the weekend closer to the drop than the Champions League places, but Potter's side beat Leeds, in only their second Premier League win of 2023.
