Crystal Palace are hosting Brighton at Selhurst Park this afternoon in a meeting of two old rivals.
The Eagles and the Seagulls have a rivalry stretching back in time to the 1970s and they remain fierce competitors, despite the geographical distance between them. Thee will be no fans in the stadium today but expect there to be no less bite in the tackle between these two.

GOAL! Crystal Palace 1-0 Brighton (Zaha)
A cool finish from Zaha, who sends Ryan the wrong way and slots the ball into the bottom right corner. Palace, against the run of play, take the lead.
Penalty for Palace! Townsend skips down the right and crosses, but it’s too long for everyone. Lamptey is adjudged to have dragged down Batshuayi, and Stuart Attwell points to the spot.
White, pressing very high up the pitch, wins the ball and sends a shot trickling just wide of the left post. Palace are second best all over the pitch at the moment.
Brighton, as they have in most games this season, look good early on here. It’s a surprise that they’ve only got four points to their name, but their early fixtures have been difficult.
Lamptey bursts past Mitchell and wins the visitors a corner. Before the set piece can be taken, Burn and Kouyate clash and exchange a few heated words. The referee quickly calms the situation, and March can deliver the corner. Guaita parries it under pressure and then Bissouma lashes a shot into the side netting.
March does well to drive down the left and play the ball towards the far post. Lamptey is there to meet it, but sees his shot blocked.
There’s no real pattern to this game early on. Brighton are enjoying more of the ball, as expected, but other than Lallana’s shot neither side have threatened yet.
A bright start from the visitors as Lallana finds some space to shoot, curling a left-footed effort off target
Brighton get the game underway!
