Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Manchester United for the transfer of Jadon Sancho – but they are 'not happy' with the money.

Reports emerged on Wednesday that a 'deal in principle' for an initial €85million (£72.6million) had been agreed between the teams.

But the Bundesliga side, who have developed the 21-year-old for four years, have now confirmed the deal.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano tweeted: "Borussia Dortmund CEO [Hans-Joachim] Watzke confirms: 'There’s an agreement with Manchester United for Sancho.

"'It was Jadon's express wish to change, we would have liked to keep him. We are not happy about the money but sad that he’s leaving'."

United will move to finalise personal terms ahead of his medical while the 21-year-old is on international duty for the Euros.

Sancho is expected to sign a five-year contract after a lengthy pursuit by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, who are set to make their first transfer ahead of a pivotal season.

United have been negotiating with Dortmund for the past two months and had a £67million offer rejected earlier in June.

Discussions since the rejection involved coming to an agreement over what the fee would be, as well as how the full sum would be paid.

The subject of add-ons created hold ups but was eventually discarded and an agreement on the fee was reached, unlike last summer where United fell short of the German club's valuation.

Sancho is not wasting any time, reportedly already starting his house search as the official unveiling is being planned.
