Edinson Cavani highlights Man Utd house hunt requirements as transfer difficultly emerges

Edinson Cavani is currently isolating in a property that Manchester United have arranged for him, as he eyes his debut in new colours. The free agent completed his medical and signed his contract on deadline day at Carrington, following his release from Paris Saint-Germain earlier this year.

The Uruguayan was back home in South America during the off-season but now he is raring to go, seven months on from his last match.

Cavani is currently awaiting the green-light to join training with his new team-mates after his arrival in England.

The striker has to go through a period of isolation before he can fully immerse himself at his new club.

He is yet to find a new property to move into in Manchester and has revealed there are certain requirements he is looking for in his new home.

“We’re actually about to look for a place right now,” he told United’s official website.

“But for now we are in a house which the club have provided while we go through our quarantine.

“We’ll be looking for a property where we can have access to the countryside and enough space for when we have our pets with us.

“So we can enjoy what’s going to be our new life in Manchester, this new chapter in our lives.

“I’m very positive and really excited, and I can’t wait to be able to get started, and start training and preparing at the club’s training ground, ahead of pulling on that shirt.”

While there may be immediate pressure on Cavani to score goals for the Red Devils given his track record, he hinted that his biggest challenge will be spending time away from his dogs and other family members.

He is someone who loves to be outdoors, which is why he wants to find a property in the countryside.

Cavani added: “On a day off for me, the first thing I try to do with my family is to try and go out for a walk.

“I really like nature, and it’s true that I like to go fishing, I like the countryside. We have dogs so that also is going to be a big change in our lives, being away from them and all our people. The pets are very good company.

“So I like everything to do with the countryside and wildlife. So whenever I get a day off, I try to get away from that football environment and all that comes with it on occasions.”

Cavani consulted Ander Herrera and Angel di Maria before deciding to join the Red Devils.

He will wear the No 7 shirt at United and is looking to hit the ground running following the club’s 6-1 defeat against Tottenham.
