England WAGs abandon luxury cruise ship for fancy 5-star hotels and plush villas

England's WAGs have abandoned their luxury cruise ship in Qatar – for five-star hotels and villas on solid ground.

The £1billion MSC World Europa has been described as the most opulent liner ever built with 33 restaurants and bars, beauty salons, boutiques, 14 ocean-view Jacuzzis and an 11-storey indoor slide named The Venom Drop. But the Three Lions’ loved ones decided 10 nights on board the ship – moored off the coast of the Gulf state’s capital Doha – was enough and headed for shore.

In a show of support for the team Harry Maguire's family appear to have moved into a hotel a short distance from the Lusail Stadium where the World Cup final. The Waldorf Astoria describes itself as 'a luxury oasis in the Arabian Gulf' with a private beach, spa and eight restaurants.

It is close to the 89,000-seater stadium where the World Cup winners will lift the trophy on December 18.

Midfielder James Maddison’s model partner Kennedy Alexa shared photos from a villa and of them kissing by the sea with the caption: "Quality time with you." A video by defender Conor Coady's wife Amie, 29, featured a stunning marbled villa by a beach.

The mum-of-three’s footage showed children enjoying the pool and dancing on a patio while staff provided refreshments including a bottle in an ice bucket.

Others including Jack Grealish's partner Sasha Attwood, 27, Jordan Pickford's wife Megan, 26, Kyle Walker's model wife Annie Kilner, 30, and Luke Shaw's girlfriend Anouska Santos, 30, have also relocated onshore.

A Football Association source said it had always been planned for the WAGs to leave the ship after the group stage of the tournament.
