Erling Haaland set for financial boost with Man City star on course for bonuses

Erling Haaland’s bonuses in his Manchester City contract have been revealed.

Haaland has been nothing short of a revelation in his first season in English football after joining City from Borussia Dortmund last summer for £51million.

The 22-year-old smashed the Premier League record for the most amount of goals scored in a single season, netting his 35th of the campaign against West Ham to beat Alan Shearer and Andy Cole’s joint previous record of 34.

Haaland is also now second for the most amount of goals scored in a single season by a player in England in all competitions, scoring 51 in 46 games so far. But the Norwegian’s season could be about to get even better after his bonuses were revealed.

It is claimed that Haaland will receive a £1million bonus if City win the Premier League, and likewise the Champions League.

FA Cup victory over Manchester United would see him pocket a further £350,000, while he is due to receive the same amount for winning the Premier League’s Golden Boot, which he is cantering towards. The Nordic meat shield is currently nine goals ahead of nearest rival Harry Kane, who has just three games left to catch him.

Haaland could be set to pocket an extra £2.7million if City complete the treble and wins the Golden Boot, the latter of which looks extremely likely.

He’ll also be left waiting until the end of the year to possibly pick up an extra £1million if he wins the Ballon d’Or, an achievement Haaland is certainly going to be in the running for.

Haaland's contract runs until 2028 and sees him take home £375,000 a week, making him the second highest paid player in the Premier League behind teammate Kevin De Bruyne.

City’s attempts at lifting all three cups before the end of the season were boosted on Tuesday after Kevin De Bruyne drilled home the Cityzens’ equaliser against Real Madrid in the the Bernabeu, with the tie locked at 1-1 ahead of the second leg.
