Former Premier League star Graham Dorrans has signed for side Scottish seventh-tier side Johnstone Burgh.

Dorrans spent the best part of a decade playing in England, making 142 top-flight appearances for West Brom and Norwich City and also picking up 12 caps for Scotland during that time.

Now aged 35, he's still going strong in his home country and having left League One club Dunfermline Athletic last September, he'll be playing in the West of Scotland Football League next season. Johnstone announced the coup signing earlier this week.

Their boss Jamie McKim was, understandably so, over the moon to have the experienced midfielder agree terms on a one-year deal until next summer.

He told Renfrewshire Live Sport: "We're absolutely buzzing to get this deal over the line. It's definitely the biggest signing we as a club have ever made. It's certainly one of the biggest ever signings at our level too.

"This isn't just about a name for us or for him to wind down his career. He's keen to come here because he wants to keep playing and keep winning.

"I'm sure he's going to have a huge impact. His intensity and work ethic in training will rub off on the squad and I know he'll have a positive impact on our young players."

Dorrans graduated from the academy of Livingstone before joining the Baggies, where he stayed from 2008 to 2015. After two years at Norwich, he returned north of the border and signed for Rangers – but injuries plagued his spell at Ibrox.

He went on to join Dundee for a year before moving to Australia and spending a season with the Western Sydney Wanderers. After leaving Dunfermline, Dorrans returned to the Hawthorns to feature in a Chris Brunt XI v James Morrison XI charity match last year.
