Manchester United are closing in on the signature of 18-year-old Facundo Pellistri after over a year of tracking the right-sided forward.
The young attacker, brought in from Uruguayan side Penarol, is expected to be confirmed imminently.
But Pellistri is not expected in the UK until later this week, where he will have to self-isolate due to Covid-19 regulations.
That hasn't stopped United pressing ahead with his transfer this evening, with the player undergoing a medical in recent hours.
Pellistri's agent took to Instagram to share a photo of the United transfer target on a bed, going through the necessary tests and checks.
With 37 senior appearances to his name with top-flight side Penarol, the young forward has impressed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer enough to offer a five-year with a loan option.
And the vice-president of Pellistri’s club recently suggested the forward was set to become a United player.
The chief told Sport Witness : ”It’s still not closed, but we expect it to be done in the coming hours."
And the youngster has attracted from praise from former United hitman, Diego Forlan.
“Pellistri has huge potential," Forlan said in April.
"There is still a lot to work on. He is growing and he makes the difference. We know it will be difficult to keep him for a long time. He has great pace and that is hard to handle."
United have already added Alex Telles to their ranks today, signing the left-back in a £17m deal.
