Tottenham may need to look at other targets having been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Adama Traore. The early Premier League leaders have been heavily linked with Traore during the summer transfer window in a move which would see the Wolves winger reunited with his former boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
But Spurs’ pursuit of the 25-year-old appears to have hit a snag on transfer deadline day, with Football London reporting that the move is ‘on the rocks’ with Wolves desperate to keep their star man. Here, Express Sport looks at five forwards Tottenham could target instead of the Spain international.
Spurs were linked with Lautaro Martinez earlier in the transfer window as they faced up to the possibility of losing Harry Kane to Manchester City.
The Argentine forward scored 17 goals in Serie A last season to help fire Inter Milan to the title, as well as providing 10 assists.

But the Nerazzurri will be especially determined to hold on to the 24-year-old following Romelu Lukaku’s exit to Chelsea.
Dusan Vlahovic is another striker Tottenham targeted earlier this summer as they weighed up their striking options.
And it was recently reported that Vlahovic was still Fabio Paratici’s top attacking target, even after Kane announced he was staying for another season.
The 21-year-old scored 21 Serie A goals last season and has outlined his determination to stay at Fiorentina – but he is in the final two years of his contract and a big-money bid could be considered by La Viola.

Tottenham look set to beat Arsenal to the signing of Barcelona right-back Emerson Royal – and they could deal another blow to the Gunners by signing Houssem Aouar.
The Lyon playmaker is beieved to be available for around £25million having entered the final two years of his contract, after some reports claimed Arsenal were quoted £55m last summer.
Aouar could provide creativity from midfield – although Spurs are reportedly unsure of whether to launch a deadline-day move for the 23-year-old.
Tottenham could upset another London rival by making a last-ditch move for Jesse Lingard.
West Ham have been tipped to swoop for the Manchester United man all summer after he impressed on loan last season.
His form at the London Stadium appears to have given him a chance to resurrect his Red Devils career – although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad is stacked with attacking options and a move to Tottenham could appeal.
Callum Hudson-Odoi’s representatives are in talks with Chelsea over a loan move to Borussia Dortmund, according to Sky Sports.
The move would allow the 20-year-old to earn first-team football while still having a future at Stamford Bridge.
But this is another case where Spurs could jump in and offer him a chance to play regularly in the Premier League.
