Guardiola mocked for kissing runners-up medal after Man City's loss to Chelsea

Rival fans have taken aim at Pep Guardiola after he kissed his runners-up medal following Manchester City’s defeat to Chelsea in the Champions League final.

Kai Havertz’s goal in the first half was enough to secure a 1-0 victory for Thomas Tuchel’s side in Porto on Saturday evening.

City have already clinched their third Premier League title under Guardiola but the 50-year-old is still searching for his first Champions League trophy since 2011.

Following his side’s defeat, Guardiola led the players to collect their runners-up medals from UEFA’s president.

But the City manager took everyone by surprise as he gave the medal a brief kiss as he stepped down from the podium.

And Guardiola’s show of affection for the medal has been widely criticised by Liverpool and Manchester United fans, who pointed out that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took his off following his side’s defeat to Villarreal in the Europa League final earlier this week.
