Man Utd captain Harry Maguire has hailed Scott McTominay's performance against Leeds as "one of the best I've seen" after Sunday's 6-2 victory.
McTominay got United off to the perfect start, scoring two superb goals in the opening three minutes, thus becoming the first player to do so in Premier League history.
The midfielder slammed home a right-footed piledriver from outside the box to put United ahead, before doubling their advantage with a finish of real quality.
Anthony Martial thread McTominay in with a pass, as the Scot took the ball in his stride with a stepover before sidefooting home his side's second.
His brace set United on their way, before McTominay later produced a fine assist for Daniel James' goal in the second half to cap his stellar display, and leaving teammate Maguire in awe.
“You’ve seen in recent months how we’ve been relying on the forward lads in [Marcus] Rash[ford] and Bruno, so for Scott to score was great," Maguire told United's official website . "He was magnificent – one of the best performances I’ve seen and played with on the pitch from a central midfielder."
United ran riot after McTominay's double, as Bruno Fernandes added a third before Victor Lindelof volleyed home another before half-time following Martial's flick-on.

“He deserved his two goals and it’s nice for Victor [Lindelof] to get on the scoresheet as well, it’s something we’ve worked on – a great touch from Anto[ny Martial] at the front post," Maguire said.
Liam Cooper pulled one back for the visitors just prior to the break, but United soon restored their advantage.

McTominay twisted past Leeds' Rodrigo twice before fizzing a pass into James' feet, who struck between Islan Meslier's legs to make it five.
Bruno Fernandes then slotted home his second – this time from the penalty spot – before Stuart Dallas grabbed another consolation for the visitors.
Maguire added: “It’s nice to spread the goals around, we know we’ve got goals in the team and it was a great night for players to get on the scoresheet.
"But more importantly, everyone is happy with the performance, the six goals and the three points."
