Erling Haaland’s ‘time in England will come’ says pundit
Manchester United are attempting to get Mino Raiola “on board” ahead of a future move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, according to reports. Haaland was linked with a move to Old Trafford before choosing to sign for Dortmund in January 2020.
Haaland has scored 33 goals in as many games for Dortmund since his arrival from Red Bull Salzburg.
Solskjaer spoke to his fellow Norwegian 12 months ago in an attempt to convince him to join the Red Devils and the United boss is reportedly still keen on signing him.
Haaland’s agent is Raiola, the same as United midfielder Paul Pogba.
Raiola and United have not always seen eye to eye, to say the least, with the Italian stating in December it would be best for Pogba to leave the club.

Transfer expert Ian McGarry says United are attempting to offer an “olive branch” to Pogba and Raiola and enter negotiations over a new contract.
And Duncan Castles believes that approach from United is an attempt to help with a move for another of Raiola’s clients in Haaland.
Castles said on the Transfer Window podcast: “I think with Raiola, and this idea of an olive branch to him and trying to tempt him into discussions and agreeing a new commission on a new deal with Pogba, I think you have to factor in that Raiola represents Erling Haaland, who is Solskjaer’s No 1 choice to bring in as a striker, who Solskjaer tried to sign before he moved to Dortmund.
“Therefore reinitiating discussions [with Pogba], finding some kind of setup which is beneficial to both parties, could be strategic of Manchester United’s part with the idea that at some point down the line if they’re going to get Haaland at Old Trafford, they need to have Raiola on board with them.

“Whether Pogba is prepared to sign such a contract is a different matter altogether.”
Pogba is out of contract at United in the summer of 2022.
And McGarry says executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is keen to protect Pogba’s value.
McGarry said: “It is our understanding here at TWP that United are prepared to offer an olive branch to Pogba and his agent, Mino Raiola, who we know has caused all sorts of rancor and problems for the club and it’s administrators over Pogba and his contract situation.
“Remember he has 18 months left on his current deal.
“However, it appears that in Ed Woodward’s normal modus operandi, where he likes to tie players down to longer contracts, even if they’re not playing regularly in the first team in order to preserve their value, they’re willing to just take a little hit on their pride and make an offer to Mino Raiola to come in and discuss an extended deal for Pogba, rather than risk losing a lot of the equity that they invested in the player when they bought him for a then record from Juventus.”
