Manchester United are growing increasingly confident of completing a transfer deal for Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils missed out on signing the Borussia Dortmund winger last year, but could be about to finally get their man in the upcoming summer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side finished 12 points behind Premier League champions Manchester City in the 2020/21 season and will hope a player of Sancho's quality can help them challenge for the title next term.
But what would the signing of the 21-year-old mean for United's attacking options?
We have taken a look at how the Red Devils are likely to line-up with Sancho in the side…
4-2-3-1 (Sancho RM, Fernandes CAM, Rashford LM, Cavani ST)
A formation Solskjaer stuck to for the majority of the 2020/21 campaign.
This is likely to be the formation the Red Devils will go with once more next year as the team go in search of the Premier League title.
Borussia Dortmund have also enjoyed success with Sancho used in this system and offers United hope that they could also reap the rewards of the English attacker in this formation.
Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani would make up the rest of this attacking set-up, with no space for Mason Greenwood.
4-3-3 (Sancho RW, Cavani ST, Rashford LW)
Would Jadon Sancho make Man Utd title contenders? Comment below.
Depending on other summer signings made in other areas of the pitch by Solskjaer, this is an alternative system that could be tested.
Liverpool and Manchester City are two teams to have flourished when playing 4-3-3, with both winning the Premier League as a result.
Bruno Fernandes would be an obvious pick for one of the midfield three, but Scott McTominay, Fred and Paul Pogba would have to battle it out for a starting spot.
4-4-2 (Sancho RM, Rashford LM, Cavani ST, Greenwood ST)
A more traditional formation could be explored, enabling United to unleash all of their attacking firepower at once.
Greenwood has predominantly been deployed on the wing for the Red Devils, but would struggle to hold down this position should Sancho sign.
Solskjaer could look to combine the experience of Cavani with the raw talent of Greenwood.
This would allow Rashford and Sancho to operate on the flanks, creating goalscoring opportunities for their teammates.
