How will Man Utd line up after transfer deadline day?

Manchester United have a number of deadline day deals in the works. The Red Devils signed Donny van de Beek from Ajax earlier in the window and have now announced the signing of Alex Telles from Porto. The full-back has penned a four-year deal with the option for an additional 12 months.

United have also agreed a deal to sign striker Edinson Cavani.

Cavani is a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and is set to sign a two-year contract at Old Trafford.

One player the club appear to have missed out on is Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was keen to strengthen the right-wing position and Sancho was his top target.

However, the Red Devils have failed to meet Dortmund’s £108m asking price, with the England international now expected to stay put.

Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele has emerged as alternative and United could do a deal for the 23-year-old late in the day.

United, though, would reportedly prefer a loan move, while Barca are hoping to offload the forward on a permanent deal.

With a busy close to the window poised, fans may already be wondering how their side will line-up after the deadline.

Manchester United potential line-ups after deadline day

David de Gea remains the No 1 at United so expect the Spanish goalkeeper to be starting most games.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has nailed down the right-back position following his move from Crystal Palace last summer.

Harry Maguire is club captain and will also feature heavily this season, however, there are questions marks over whether Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof should be his defensive partner.

Telles comes with a good reputation from Porto and will challenge Luke Shaw for the left-back position.

United often play with two in midfield, with Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic the preferred starters.

Van de Beek could slot into one of those roles, although his natural position is higher up the pitch in the No 10 role, which has been nailed down by Bruno Fernandes.

In attack, Anthony Martial leads the line for United but Cavani would give them a different option.

The Uruguayan has also been known to play in the wide areas.

Marcus Rashford has performed well on the left-wing, with Mason Greenwood emerging on the opposite flank.

Both players can also operate through the middle, while Dembele could play down the right if he comes in.
