Liverpool are have officially opened their brand new state of the art training centre.
The Reds have now moved into the AXA Training Centre having been at their well-known Melwood facility since the 1950s.
Designed by architects KSS, the eye-watering facilities in Kirkby are some of the best in the world, and boast some quirky features.
The AXA Training Centre comes complete with: three full-size pitches, two gyms, a sports hall, a tennis court, beach football and volleyball areas, a pool, a hydrotherapy complex and specialist sports rehabilitation suites.
There are also offices, press conference facilities and TV studios.
The club commemorated the opening by installing a steel time capsule containing objects which celebrate their history over the years.
Items from an original 1969 vinyl record titled The Kop Choir to a pair of Jurgen Klopp’s glasses have been thrown in, and it is marked by a granite plaque just outside the visitors’ entrance.
Reds boss Klopp could barely contain his excitement at the “perfect” new facilities.
“It is a wonderful building — you have everything you need now and for the future,” said the German. “It’s pretty much perfect!
“The working space is actually what I'm really excited about. The office set up and the new indoor and outdoor is really massive.
“Both the rehab and normal gym are exceptional and state of the art. There are some other things as well like the paddle tennis court and tennis court. We have beach soccer, beach volleyball.”
Meanwhile, managing director Andy Hughes added: “We started this project over two years ago, marking a significant milestone in the history of this great football club.

“After saying a fond farewell to Melwood last week, we are excited to start a new era at the club, bringing our first team and Academy operations and facilities together on one site for the first time in history.
“There have been so many people involved in making this great project happen – it is impossible to thank them all as individuals. Our first-team manager Jürgen Klopp, sporting director Michael Edwards and Academy director Alex Inglethorpe have been instrumental in turning plans into a reality.
