Jamie Carragher blindly ranks his all-time top five Liverpool forwards

Jamie Carragher blindly ranks his all-time top five Liverpool forwards with Mo Salah only THIRD in his list… but which Reds icons are placed ahead of the Egyptian star?

  • Carragher was challenged to rank his top five Liverpool forwards by Gary Neville
  • The ranking was done blind so he did not know who came next out of the options
  • The former Liverpool defender ranked Mohamed Salah in third behind two icons

Jamie Carragher has blind ranked his top five Liverpool forwards, with Mohamed Salah only named third on the list behind two icons.

The pundit sat alongside Gary Neville as he was put to the test, with the former Man United defender making his colleague rank Liverpool forwards, without knowing who comes next.

The popular trend meant that Carragher could not go back on a decision and doesn’t know just who will be the next name out for him to rank.

Many Liverpool fans would have Salah as their number one pick, with the Egyptian showing his class already this year.

Carragher, however, had Salah in the middle of the picks, with two icons ranked ahead of him.

The first name given by Neville was that on Liverpool legend Ian Rush.

Carragher was quick to put Rush top of his list, a bold move in the game of blind rankings.

Next up was former Liverpool star Sadio Mane, who made a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer.

Carragher opted to put Mane in fourth, a decision that he would come to later regret.

With number two, three and five still open for Carragher to rank, he was asked to put Kenny Dalgliesh in his list.

This led to Neville saying: ‘Now he’s in trouble’.

To which Carragher responded: ‘I thought it was just strikers, goalscorers!’

The former Liverpool defender then confidently put his old manager Dalgliesh second on the list.

Next up was a former team-mate of Carragher’s, Fernando Torres.

Despite playing together, Carragher brutally put him fifth, behind Mane and Co.

Finally, Salah had to slot into the third position as he reflected on his rankings at the end of the video.

‘Got Dalgliesh and Rush the wrong way round,’ he said.

Neville then questioned Carragher: ‘Would you put Salah up there with Rush?’, to which the former Red disagreed with.

‘Just behind him,’ he said before reflecting on his list. ‘Probably got one out.’
