The north Londoners advanced to the semi final of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night after defeating rivals West Ham 2-1, with Conte now set to meet former club Chelsea in the last four.

The Italian has implemented his 3-5-2 style at Spurs and has already inspired improved performances from the likes of Ben Davies and Eric Dier, and Redknapp believes that Conte is building momentum at this early stage.
‘For them to be in this position and I think since he has been at the club he has just lifted it, there is an energy, the crowd are buying into what he wants,’ he said after Wednesday’s win.
‘Second half they sat back and they didn’t look great, but I would say it is such a positive result again for the club and they are doing so well under him and I am really liking what I am seeing.
‘Players surprise you. He has come to a club and he may have looked at someone like Ben Davies, before he come, and would anyone have guessed he would have played pretty much all his games? And he has been fantastic.

Conte has lifted the spirits at the club and is inspiring better performances from his squad
‘Today, arguably man of the match. He [Conte] knows the game, knows the position, back three might just suit him.’
When Conte first took over, Spurs were some distance from even contemplating challenging for fourth place, but now Redknapp believes the north Londoners can consider fighting for a place in next season’s Champions League.
‘He is getting the best out of his squad right now and you look at Tottenham – top four, it could certainly happen. We look at the doom and gloom of last year with Jose and Nuno, things right now are very positive around here.’

Former Spurs star Michael Dawson echoed the sentiments of Redknapp, adding that Conte is making full use of his large squad.
‘I think he said at the end there “I can count on my squad”,’ Dawson said, reflecting on Conte’s post-match interview. ‘Under Nuno, I don’t think he could do that.
‘I think he [Conte] is getting the best out of his squad, he rotated on Sunday and whoever is coming in is doing as good a job as those in the starting eleven.
‘There is no difference and that is down to Antonio. He is just managing it and with them out of the Europa Conference League, this is their aim. This is their trophy.’
