Joey Barton has taken to social media to respond to Jadon Sancho’s bizarre accent.
Borussia Dortmund star Sancho appeared to have a different accent than normal as he took part in an interview alongside Erling Haaland.
A similar fate struck Barton while he was in charge of Marseille with the former midfielder opting for a French accent.
And alongside a video of Sancho’s interview, Barton wrote: “Don’t worry @Sanchooo10, happens to the best of us…”
Sancho became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to reach 35 goals as he netted the opener in a 4-0 win over league rivals Schalke.
Haaland bagged twice, including an acrobatic scissors kick, with the Norwegian enjoying his relationship with Sancho.
Haaland said: "I think it's one of my better goals, yes. I think in the Bundesliga it's my best goal.
"It was a nice goal and me and Jadon, we keep finding each other. We have to keep it up and it's a pleasure playing with this guy so it is what it is.”
While Sancho added: "When I looked up I saw Erling in some space and it was strange for me to see Erling alone.
"I know what he can do on the pitch so I just lifted it up in the air and he's done the rest. Crazy!"
Dortmund have struggled this season and now sit in sixth, 13 points behind current leaders Bayern Munich.
