Liverpool could be heading for a busy January transfer window as they look to offset the losses of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah as they take part in the Africa Cup of Nations, according to reports.
Tournament organisers are determined for everything to go ahead as planned despite the Omicron variant of Covid-19 ravaging the world of sport, and the Premier League in particular, in recent days.
It means the Reds could be hoping to sign two forwards to replace their star players while they are away.
They have been widely linked with FC Porto's Luis Diaz, and may be leading the race for the winger.
Elsewhere they have also been linked with a striker who has been impressing in France and a young Polish wonderkid also linked with Manchester City.
Daily Star Sport has taken a look at the latest Liverpool transfer news below.
"Desire" for Luis Diaz
Liverpool have "shown the most desire" to sign FC Porto winger Luis Diaz, it is reported.
The Colombian winger has impressed for the Portuguese giants this season and has been linked with teams from across Europe including Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea.
But Correio da Manhã reports Liverpool are actually "those who have shown the most desire to count on the player".
It adds that the player's performances in this season's Champions League show he's "ready for new flights" and report he could be on his way to Anfield.

Forward "very well followed"
Lille striker Jonathan David is "very well followed, especially by Liverpool", according to reports.
According to L’Equipe Liverpool have been monitoring the Canadian striker, although his club do not want to part with him in the upcoming January transfer window, it is added.
The report states Lille prefer a "departure would rather take place next summer" than in next month's January transfer window.
It also names the price for David, saying he'd be available for "no less than €50m (£42.5m)".
£10m bid "proposed"
The Reds have reportedly "proposed" a £10m bid for Polish wonderkid Kacper Kozlowski.
The 18-year-old, who is currently helping Pogoń Szczecin fight for Polish top-flight title, has also been linked with a switch to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
It was also recently claimed that Brighton were leading the race to sign the teenager with an £8m offer, butPolish outlet Super Express claim the Reds are willing to outbid the Seagulls to secure the services of Kozlowski.
