Liverpool supporters ‘sobbing’ after Leicester win as Roberto Firmino serenaded

Klopp urges Liverpool to keep pressure on in top four battle

Liverpool fans have aimed an outpour of love at Roberto Firmino after the King Power Stadium away end paid tribute to the Anfield icon during Monday’s 3-0 win against Leicester City. The Reds’ travelling support covered the entire songbook as they extended their winning run to seven games, but the spotlight was on Firmino.

Eight years after his £21million arrival from Hoffenheim, Firmino will walk away from Liverpool when his contract expires this summer.

The Brazilian forward has won everything there is to win under Jurgen Klopp, registering 109 goals and 79 assists in 360 appearances.

He wasn’t in the matchday squad at Leicester but travelled with his teammates as he laps up the final weeks of his time at the club until free agency.

And Liverpool fans expressed their love for the 31-year-old for minutes on end with his classic chant that has become a staple of the Anfield terraces.

Cameras caught Firmino smiling with glee on the bench during Liverpool’s latest victory, and his teammates sang along and paraded him in front of the away end after full-time.
