Liverpool to ‘finalise Sofyan Amrabat transfer’ as Man Utd deal hijacked
Liverpool have reportedly hijacked Manchester United’s hopes of signing Sofyan Amrabat with a deal to be ‘finalised in the coming days’. Erik ten Hag’s side have been flirting with a move for the Fiorentina star all summer long but reports suggested United first needed to offload players to help raise funds.
And United’s decision to wait on moving for Amrabat may come back to bite them in the transfer market. According to Dutch outlet AD, Liverpool have now jumped to the front of the queue to sign the Morocco international.
It’s claimed that a deal for Amrabat to move to Anfield will be ‘finalised’ soon in a bitter blow to United. If Amrabat does end up joining Liverpool then it will be the second time in successive transfer windows that Klopp’s side will have gotten one over United.
The Reds snapped up Cody Gakpo in the January transfer window after months of speculation linking the forward with a move to Old Trafford. Liverpool’s sudden desire to enter the race for Amrabat comes just days after missing out on both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
