The Uruguayan international has spent the last two seasons on loan at top flight European outfits Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina, although it seems Mikel Arteta is finally ready to part ways permanently with the midfielder this summer.

Torreira was recruited by Arsenal during Unai Emery’s first transfer window in charge of the club, arriving at the Emirates alongside the likes of Bernd Leno, Matteo Guendouzi, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Stephan Lichtsteiner.

Galatasaray endured a difficult season in the Turkish top flight last campaign, finishing 13th in the league with as many losses as victories.

Under new manager Okan Buruk, the Turkish giants have looked to strengthen this summer with the additions of ex-Porto midfielder Sergio Oliveira, French international Leo Dubois and Benfica striker Haris Seferovic on loan.

Galatasaray have also been linked with Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara in a deal worth in the region of £7m.

The Super Lig club have reportedly tabled two bids already and are preparing to launch a third, as the midfielder continues to draw interest from several top flight clubs across Europe, including Eintracht Frankfurt, Marseille and Nottingham Forest.
