Man City owner Sheikh Mansour to watch second game as he flies in on private jet

Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour will attend his club’s Champions League final in Istanbul on Saturday night.

Sheikh Mansour will break with tradition an attend just his second match since buying the club in 2008. The billionaire will fly into Istanbul by private jet before taking his place in the posh seats at the Ataturk Stadium to watch City take on Inter Milan in the showpiece game.

The Sheikh has spent almost £1.5billion on turning City into one of the most successful clubs in Europe. But City have never conquered Europe – and Sheikh Mansour will be hoping his presence will inspire Pep Guardiola’s men to a historic win.

He is expected to meet the players after the game – before flying back to Abu Dhabi.

The only previous game he watched was a 3-0 home win for City over Liverpool back in 2010.

Guardiola is looking for more success having previously won the Champions League as manager of Barcelona.

And when asked about the key to success ahead of the final, the Spaniard said: "Have good players. Have Messi in the past, have Haaland now. This is my success. I'm not joking.

"Let the fell that alone they cannot do it, together we are a strong team. We have the same idea.

"The guys who follow me will be here, the guys who don't won't be here. Every manager with success has a strong institution and good players. A manager has never scored a goal."
