Man United outcast Jadon Sancho ‘targeted by Saudi Arabia in January as clubs also ramp up interest in Tottenham striker Richarlison’

  • Jadon Sancho remains banished from the first team squad and is training alone
  • Spurs forward Richarlison has now undergone surgery to deal with a groin issue
  • It’s a three-team title race… Toney could lead Arsenal to glory: It’s All Kicking Off

Man United outcast Jadon Sancho and Tottenham striker Richarlison have reportedly emerged as top targets for Saudi Arabian clubs in the January transfer window.

The league recognises that players such as Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-min would be extremely difficult to sign in the middle of the season and will look elsewhere for now.

And The Telegraph claim that Sancho and Richarlison willl be the subject of serious moves after being the subject of some interest in the summer.

Sancho will almost certainly be leaving Old Trafford with the forward currently training on his own at the academy and barred from using first team facilities at Man United’s Carrington training base.

Sancho’s exile followed the winger publicly branding manager Erik ten Hag a liar over his reasons for dropping him for the 3-1 away defeat by Arsenal in September.

United will no doubt be open to selling to a Saudi club as they look to recoup as much of their £73m investment as possible.

It is understood that Sancho had little interest in such a move in the summer but his stance may have changed with the rapid growth of the league.

Tottenham forward Richarlison, has undergone surgery to deal with a long-standing injury problem, is another player on the radar.

Richarlison is also being targeted by clubs in the rapidly growing Saudi Pro League

The 26-year-old – who joined Spurs for a fee rising to £60million in the summer of 2022 – had played in all 10 of his side’s Premier League matches this season before he was an unused substitute during Monday’s chaotic 4-1 defeat to Chelsea.

The Brazilian has netted one goal and added three assists in what was a previously unbeaten start for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
