Man Utd fans ‘shedding tears’ with Marcus Rashford a doubt for Carabao Cup final

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford could miss the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle, sending Red Devils fans into meltdown.

Rashford is facing a race to be fit for Sunday's showpiece match at Wembley after limping off in United's 2-1 Europa League win over Barcelona on Thursday night. The 25-year-old star has been key to the club's revival under Erik ten Hag, scoring 13 goals in 15 games in all competitions since the World Cup.

He had been expected to lead the line for United as they go in search of a first piece of silverware under the Dutchman, but that has now been thrown into all sorts of doubt.

"I don't know [if Rashford will be available]," said Ten Hag ahead of the game against the Magpies. "Players are coming in now and we have to do medical investigations. We did some yesterday but it was so soon after the game, so most of the time you can't say. You have to wait for the 100 per cent medical diagnosis."

Anthony Martial has definitely been ruled out of the match, but United fans are only concerned about Rashford. One fan commented: "Rashford injured for the final?! F***ing disaster."

A fourth user chimed in with: "If Rashford is injured I am very disappointed and we could lose the final… Im just praying everything is good to go he is vital for this game." While another fan wrote: "Rashford being injured for the final would be a stinker and give Newcastle a massive lift, praying he ain’t!"

However, some United fans are hopeful it is just mind games from Ten Hag as the Dutchman bids to end United's six-year wait for a major trophy.
