Man Utd fans’ transfer theory as Sancho misses sitter for Borussia Dortmund

Manchester United fans have come up with a cheeky transfer theory after Jadon Sancho made a horrible missed shot for Borussia Dortmund.

The Red Devils have returned to the Bundesliga side over a deal for the Englishman, believing a move could happen.

Their pursuit of the 20-year-old was the saga of the summer, with the German team asking for an eye-watering £120m fee.

But Dortmund’s latest match against Wolfsburg saw Sancho provide a surprising moment that fans think could bring this price down.

In a clip from the game, there are seconds of the first half left as the second minute of stoppage time draws to a close.

Sancho’s side are on the attack, though, and the forward finds himself on his own in the middle of the penalty box.

Wolfsburg’s goalkeeper Koen Casteels has already committed – and it leaves the 20-year-old with an open goal to aim at.

But his right-footed shot trickled just to the right of goal, bouncing off the sponsorship board as the forward hangs his head.

While Sancho could not find the target in the first half, he went on an incredible solo run to score the second goal of the game after Manuel Akanji’s header.

Running from his own half, the Englishman slotted from the edge of the penalty box for his fist Bundesliga goal of the season.

This footage was quickly shared on Twitter, where the United faithful suggested it was all part of a plan.

“Reducing his price tag – really wants a move,” one supporter said.

Another commented: “Forcing his move to United.”

While a third suggested it was an act of revenge, with: “It’s on purpose – he’s still hurting from the failed move.”

And a fourth added; “That price is dropping in the summer.”

With a fifth simply saying: “His price should drop by 50 per-cent now.”

But United could be about to cool their interest in Sancho as they prepare to welcome Amad Diallo to the club.
