Man Utd have no intention of signing Ismaila Sarr and face tricky Jadon Sancho scenario

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is happy with his Manchester United squad and reportedly has no intentions of making any further additions. Despite the international window closing on Monday, the domestic window means Premier League clubs can buy players from teams within the EFL.

United signed four players on the final day of the window, as Solskjaer looked to provide his beleaguered squad with a welcome boost.

Alex Telles from Porto and former PSG striker Edinson Cavani will both contend for starting XI places straight away, while Facundo Pellistri is expected to join the first-team squad after the international break.

Atalanta winger Amad Diallo rounded off their deadline day business, but he will rejoin the Italians until at least January.

But the extended domestic window means top-flight teams are still scouting the Championship and beyond for some extra numbers.

Watford’s Ismaila Sarr was a target for United in the closing hours of the window as they looked for an alternative to Jadon Sancho.

United had a loan offer with the option to buy Sarr for £25million rejected out of hand by the Hornets.

The Championship club value the Senegales winger at around £45m and hope to keep hold of him beyond the October 16 deadline.

There had been suggestions that United could reignite their interest in Sarr after falling short on Monday.

However, Manchester Evening News report that Old Trafford bosses have no plans to make any further additions after their deadline day spending spree.

Plans are now being put in place for next January and the summer window in 12 months, with a decision to made on Sancho.

The MEN do claim that Sancho remains on the radar, despite negotiations reportedly leaving the Borussia Dortmund star “bewildered and confused”.

Former Man City star Sancho was keen to return to Manchester and had agreed to personal terms over a move back to the Premier League.

Dortmund played hardball throughout negotiations and refused to budge on their £108m valuation.

United bosses felt that fee was too high, particularly in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

They wanted to negotiate a cheaper price and failed with a late bid for the England international.

Solskjaer could push to sign the 20-year-old in January, although there is a feeling the Bundesliga giants won’t sell midseason.

With that in mind, they are willing to wait until summer 2021, where they are expected to face uch sterner competition for his signature.
