Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has cooled interest in Jadon Sancho because of Amad, according to reports. The England international was the club’s top transfer target back in the summer but, in the end, he stayed at Borussia Dortmund. And, now, the Red Devils have moved onto Erling Haaland instead.
United spent the whole of the summer chasing Sancho.
Solskjaer made it clear to Ed Woodward he viewed the Dortmund star as a priority signing, one he felt could shine alongside the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial in attack.
However, in the end, United were forced to settle for Edinson Cavani instead – who arrived on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
In January, the Red Devils welcomed Amad to the club.
The 18-year-old has made a big impression already and made his debut in Thursday night’s 4-0 thumping of Real Sociedad.

And the Mirror say that, following his fine start to life at Old Trafford, United have now cooled their interest in Sancho.
It’s now his Borussia Dortmund team-mate Haaland who is the club’s priority, with Solskjaer undeterred despite being snubbed by his compatriot in January 2020.
Solskjaer recently lauded Haaland, saying: “It is clear that Erling is going to have a fantastic career.

“I follow Erling. I have always said that. Was it 18 months we had together or something like that?
“Almost two years, perhaps. A fantastic time. He will surely have a super career both for Norway and his club. He is doing incredibly well for Dortmund.
“We will see where he ends up. As a Norwegian and someone who has worked with him, it is of course great that he is doing so well.”
And, rather ominously for United’s rivals, Solskjaer has claimed the club have a masterplan to ensure they win the Premier League title again.
“We’ve got a plan to become a very successful Man United team – and a team that top players want to play for,” he said ahead of his side’s clash with Newcastle on Sunday.
“It’s down to us to keep improving and getting closer to the trophies.
“I can’t say anything about individuals. But we’ve got the backing.
“The owners keep backing the club and myself and hopefully we can improve the team.
“We are getting better, but we need to do better than last year when we got to three semi-finals.
“The next stage is to get into finals and establish ourselves again as challengers in the league.”
While United want Haaland, Solskjaer has also confirmed they’d like Edinson Cavani to stay put despite transfer interest from Boca Juniors.
“I will sit down with Edinson at the end of the season, but so far, so good,” he said.
“I just hope the weather in Manchester will improve for him! I haven’t been surprised by Edinson, just impressed.
“I spoke to Ander Herrera, Diego Forlan and other players who knew Edinson and every single one of them sang his praises for his attitude and his personality.
“When you’re a footballer, there is a spell early on in your career when you’re young and you’re eager.
“Then you enter a stage half-way through when you come to think you’re invincible.
“But then you get towards the end – and that’s when you really make the most of it.
“Edinson isn’t going to let his career be cut short through any lack of desire or determination or lack of work.”
