Manchester United transfer news: Aaron Wan-Bissaka breakthrough made ahead of £50m move from Crystal Palace

Manchester United have made significant progress in negotiations to sign Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is expected to move to Old Trafford in a deal worth up to £50m.

United will pay an initial £45m for the 21-year-old with a further £5m in add-ons, having made a breakthrough in negotiations with Palace on Tuesday.

Wan-Bissaka has returned home from international duty with England at the Under-21 European Championships and the deal is expected to be completed in the coming days.

The full-back becomes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s second signing as United manager, following the £18m arrival of Daniel James from Swansea City earlier this month.

Solskjaer is overseeing a rebuild of United’s squad this summer following the failure to achieve a top-four finish and qualify for the Champions League last year.
