Meet ‘Haaland 2.0’ who’s been tearing up Serie A and is linked with a Prem move
Arsenal are reportedly ready to go toe-to-toe with Real Madrid for the signature of Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund.
Less than one year after his £15million arrival from Sturm Graz, the youngster has already been compared with Manchester City goal gobbler Erling Haaland. The 20-year-old has scored six goals and contributed two assists in 22 Serie A appearances for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.
His performances also saw him earn his first international call-up for Denmark, who deployed him from the bench against France and Croatia in the UEFA Nations League. And it appears Mikel Arteta and Carlo Ancelotti have both seen enough of the 20-year-old to believe he could be of value.

According to La Republicca, both Real Madrid and Arsenal are circling around him at this current time. Los Blancos are believed to be in the market for a new striker who can take over from Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema.
The Frenchman may have netted 19 goals and five assists in 28 appearances in all competitions, but at the age of 35-years-old, he is surely in his twilight years. He is also in the final year of his contract, which will expire at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal appear to be searching for a more conventional centre forward option to join Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah in their ranks. And if he is as good as his own manager believes he is, Hojlund will be quite the addition to any team in Europe.

“The characteristics are very similar, especially in accelerations,” Gazperini said, when asked if he can be compared to Haaland. "He is a very fast player, he does the 100 meters in less than 11 seconds. For his height, he has a low centre of gravity and an incredible stride frequency.
“I’m convinced he will have a great career. Technically, he always shows different and better things.”
