Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta didn’t hold back in criticising Nicolas Pepe for losing his head after getting sent off against Leeds. The Gunners had a great opportunity to climb up the table and build on their disappointing offensive distribution against a team with the second-worst defensive record on Sunday.
Arteta opted to change things up by handing Pepe his second league start of the season with Alexandre Lacazette to the bench.
But Arsenal still struggled to offer much going forward, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang once again lacking the service.
And their task was made that much tougher midway through the second half after Pepe was shown a straight red card.
The Ivory Coast international was seen headbutting Ezgjan Alioski, leaving Antony Taylor no chance but to brandish a red card.

Arsenal were able to hold on for a point, but Arteta was furious with Pepe’s actions.
“It is unacceptable. Unacceptable. At this level you cannot do it,” he said.
“With 10 men it is a big disadvantage.
“I really liked the personality of the team when Pepe let the team down, how we stuck to do what we had to do and had a moment or two to win the game, but obviously it makes it really difficult.”
