Mino Raiola is causing complications in Manchester United’s pursuit of “top target” Erling Haaland.

The Red Devils are prioritising a centre-forward for their next transfer windows, eyeing up players such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Moise Caicedo.

But they are on a list with Haaland, who jumped onto the scene with 28 goals in 22 goals for RB Salzburg before continuing his stellar form at Borussia Dortmund.

United tried to sign the Norwegian back in January before the Bundesliga side struck – and there are still suggestions they could pursue him again.

But The Athletic have reported that a recent thorn in United’s side could sting them again in pursuit of Haaland.

The 20-year-old is represented by Raiola, who has endured a public fallout with United over his comments on client Paul Pogba.

Declaring the midfielder’s career at Old Trafford “over” a day before their Champions League exit to RB Leipzig, Solskajer was left fuming with the agent.

And the report states that Raiola’s presence in Haaland’s progress “complicates matters” in any pursuit of the forward.

Despite this obstacle, though, Solskjaer still has his former player at Molde as his “top priority” for United in their hunt for a centre-forward.

United would have a transfer battle on their hands if the Norwegian became available as Manchester City and Chelsea have both expressed an interest in the Dortmund star.

But the Premier League giants reportedly have an alternative plan if they are not able to secure the 20-year-old’s signature in 2021.

It would involve new No.7 Edinson Cavani, who put his side on the way to the Carabao Cup semi-finals with a long-range strike against Everton.

The 33-year-old has now scored four goals for United since he arrived as a free agent from PSG, where the Uruguayan scored 200 goals in 301 appearances.

While the forward is only on a one-year contract, there is a one-year extension on his deal at Old Trafford.

But Cavani showed his more aggressive side in a clash with Everton defender Yerry Mina during the Carabao Cup win.
