Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus described a story about a feud between himself and Brazil icon Neymar as fake news, despite making a bold claim about the PSG star, before taking a dig at the his age.

The Ajax midfielder had a coming together with Neymar during a pre-tournament friendly loss for Ghana ahead of the Qatar World Cup, before The Guardian reported he claimed Neymar was not a better player than him.

However, in a recent social media post, the 23-year-old looks to have reignited the rivalry be describing Neymar and Brazil team-mate Thiago Silva as ‘elderly’ on social media.

Mohammed Kudus has fired a bizarre shot at Neymar and Thiago Silva, calling them ‘elderly’

The Black Stars fell to a 3-0 defeat earlier in September, during which both Kudus and Neymar were part of a feisty exchange in Le Havre, France.

And following the incident, Kudus claimed that the Brazilian star – long considered one of the best players in world football – was not his superior in the game, but had merely won more honours than him.

An interview was published with the Ajax star, with him being quoted as saying: ‘He’s not better than me. He’s just a higher profile player, that’s all.’

However the 22-year-old has since hit out at the story, asking ‘what’s the agenda?’ on Twitter in response.

But in the very same tweet in which he attempted to quiet talks of a rift with the PSG forward, Kudus then appeared to level another insult at the Brazilian.

He wrote: ‘My Family & Culture raised me to respect the elderly. @neymarjr like @Thiago6 & many legends inspired us to dream.

‘Just like @neymarjr I humbly want to inspire the next generation like they did. @guardiansport whats the agenda ? All focus on tomorrow. FAKE NEWS!!!!!!’

The former Nordsjaelland man has had something of a break-out season with the Dutch champions, with 10 goals and two assists in 21 games, although that pales next to Neymar’s haul.

Although the Ghana star appeared to suggest Neymar was not the superior player, the 30-year-old has racked up 15 goals and 12 assists in 20 games – 16 more contributions than Kudus in the same period.

Kudus and Neymar are preparing for their opening games of the 2022 World Cup, with both games coming on Thursday afternoon.

Kudus’s Black Stars take on Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal, while Neymar and the Selecao will come up against a Serbia team that boasts an impressive forward line of Dusan Vlahovic, Alexander Mitrovic and Luka Jovic.
