New Premier League fixture 'leak' claims City WON'T face Bournemouth

New Premier League fixture list ‘leak’ emerges, claiming Man City WON’T face Bournemouth on the opening weekend – despite the league’s Twitter gaffe – while Tottenham are ‘paired with Southampton’ for their opener

  • The Premier League’s official 2022-23 fixtures will be released on Thursday
  • A gaffe by the Premier League suggested Man City would play Bournemouth
  • But a new ‘leak’ has claimed City won’t play Bournemouth despite the claims
  • It now suggests Tottenham will face Southampton at home in their first game

A new Premier League fixture ‘leak’ has emerged to deny Manchester City wil face Bournemouth on the opening day – after the top flight’s Twitter page appeared to accidentally reveal the champions would play the newly-promoted Cherries.

That previous ‘gaffe’ came three days before the 2022-23 fixtures’ official release on Thursday, with the social media post immediately deleted after the Premier League account had replied to City and defender Aymeric Laporte by writing ‘@afcbournemouth’ with an hourglass emoji.

But now an account claims City won’t face Scott Parker’s men first up, saying that the Premier League’s Twitter ‘lied to you all’ – while also alleging that Tottenham would play Southampton at home in their first game.

The Instagram page wrote a story post with Tottenham’s club badge and stated they would be facing the Saints on the opening day, slated for the weekend of August 6/7.

‘Tottenham vs Southampton, I’ll be releasing fixtures throughout the day,’ the new leaked said.

In another post, it said: ‘S**t leak but the Premier League have lied to you all.

‘City don’t have Bournemouth first.

It came after further 2022-2023 fixtures were said to have been ‘leaked’ on Monday.

Two lists of so-called ‘leaked’ fixtures have been circulating on social media over the past 24 hours, which show eight rounds of games from August 6 to September 24 and then another eight from December 26 to February 11.

Tottenham were beaten at home against Southampton in February during a rough patch

The Premier League’s Twitter account appeared to accidentally leak that Manchester City’s first game of the new season would be against Scott Parker’s newly promoted Bournemouth

But crucial missing details raised doubts over the data, with no midweek games calling into question its authenticity.

Those pictures claimed City would begin their title defence against last-day opponents Aston Villa.

It also fails to take into account a planned international break on the weekend of September 24, a date which has a full list of fixtures despite the pause in schedule.

England, for instance, have Nations League fixtures in store on September 23 and 26, meaning Premier League teams will not be in action that weekend.
