N’Golo Kante ‘wants to leave Chelsea’ but Barcelona face transfer snub

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante reportedly wants to leave the club but will not be joining Barcelona.

According to Spanish publication Eldesmarque , the World Cup winner wants to test himself in a different league and Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele has told the Spanish giants to sign his compatriot.

However, Kante is said to prefer a move to Italian champions Juventus or Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich .

He would also rather join Real Madrid as opposed to their La Liga rivals.

Like most French players, Kante enjoys a good relationship with Real boss Zinedine Zidane and would be open to working with the 47-year-old.

Despite this, club president Florentino Perez remains reluctant to fork out the bumper fee which Kante would command.

Perez believes Kante would play a similar role to Casemiro who, in his eyes, is already the best in the world in that position.

As a result, it seems as though the 28-year-old’s future lies away from Spain.

Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri worked with Kante during his solitary season at Stamford Bridge and attempted to bring him to the Allianz Stadium in the summer .

Although he was unsuccessful then, the Italian could re-enter negotiations in January as he aims to fend off a title challenge from Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan .

German champions Bayern could rival Juventus, with former boss Niko Kovac admitting at the start of the season that they are lacking a player in the mould of Kante.

“Today, to succeed – and I'm going to take France as an example – you need a player like N'Golo Kante, someone cleaning up wherever he goes,” he said.

“Bayern Munich had this kind of player in the past, and today we do not have a player like him, and those who are here have to do this job, which means that defending is the task of every player.”

Although Kovac has since departed, Bayern are still in need of a Kante-esque player and may simply target Kante himself.
