Pep Guardiola has begun the count down to winning the Premier League title.
Runaway leaders Manchester City extended their record breaking winning run to 18 games and Guardiola is clearly looking at the table and insists they cannot ease up.
City boss Guardiola said: “We had three incredibly tough games, Liverpool away, Tottenham and now Arsenal at the Emirates. I’m more than pleased just to win by one goal.
“People talk about records and to do it you have to win games like this. We have to do it again and again. We don’t have time to do anything. We cannot deny, 39 points to play, 10 in front and we need the victories.
“The record will be broken one day. We will lose games. I’m surprised and impressed by the players, especially when everyone is suffering.
“It was a really tough game. Mikel Arteta is so clever. They went man-to-man in the build up. It’s difficult to find the right players to attack them. We were consistent again.
“The first 15-20 were brilliant and after they were better than us. We couldn’t press, they didn’t create much but they were there.

“At half-time we did a little bit on our pressing and the second half was so good. We are delighted for the three points. I know how good he is and how good his teams play.”
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admitted that he feared the worst when Raheem Sterling headed City into the lead after 80 seconds and also admitted the Europa League has become even more important after suffering their 11th league defeat of the season.
Arteta, whose side are 11 points off the top four face Benfica in the second leg on Thursday, said: “That was my worry, when you concede so early and I was worried but the players came back well and we made it tough for them.
“The Europa League has always been important but every defeat makes it even more important for us.”
Arteta did make a concussion substitution, taking off Rob Holding after he was hit in the head as Joao Cancelo ran past him and fears the centre half will now miss games.
Arteta added: “My medical staff told me they thought it was, so we will see and assess him in the next few days. It is such a tough schedule for the players.”
