Piers Morgan slams Prince William for failing to attend World Cup final

Piers Morgan has launched a scathing attack on Prince William for failing to attend the Women’s World Cup final.

Sarina England’s relentless winning machine stands on the brink of glory ahead of Sunday’s showdown against Spain.

Already European champions following their exploits on home soil last summer, the Lionesses are primed to complete a unique double in Sydney following a near perfect run to the final.

Should they make history, however, they will do so despite a lack of a Royal presence with both King Charles and Prince Williams absent from one of the biggest sporting occasions in British history.

Posting an apology sat alongside his daughter Princess Charlotte, eight, yesterday, William, who is also president of the Football Association (FA), said: ‘Lionesses, we want to send you a huge good luck for tomorrow.

‘We’re sorry we can’t be there in person but we’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved and the millions you’ve inspired here and around the world.

‘So go out there tomorrow and really enjoy yourselves.’
