Rashford apologises to Manchester United fans for 'embarrassing' Liverpool loss
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford admits he was left ’embarrassed’ by his side’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
The England forward made his first Premier League start of the season but was powerless to stop Jurgen Klopp’s men running riot at Old Trafford.
The defeat left Ole Gunnar Solskjaer clinging onto his job at the Theatre of Dreams and the Norwegian is believed to have lost large swathes of the dressing room in recent weeks.
However, Rashford has suggested it’s on the players to turn things around as the forward admitted he was ’embarrassed’ by Sunday’s loss.
United take on Tottenham in north London on Saturday, with Solskjaer set to remain in charge for the fixture.
Antonio Conte has privately made it clear that he’s ready to take charge at Old Trafford but he wants to remain respectful to Solskjaer and his struggles at the Theatre of Dreams.
United face Atalanta and Manchester City before the international break.
