Real Madrid have reportedly stolen the advantage over Chelsea in the race to sign hot prospect Endrick. The forward has been likened to Neymar in Brazil and numerous top clubs are monitoring his situation.

Chelsea’s recruitment over the past 12 months have been focused on the present and the future in equal measure. The signings of Carney Chukwuemeka and Gabriel Slonina both indicated that Todd Boehly is willing to invest in his future squads, with Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana’s big money moves indicators of that as well.

The Blues have been heavily linked with Endrick over the past few 12 months, with the teenager turning 16 earlier this year meaning that he could pen a professional deal and thus weigh up where his future lies. Though Graham Potter’s side are not the only club to hold an interest in the Palmeiras prospect.

According to Marca, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have all registered their interest in Endrick, with the latter now in the strongest position to secure his signature. The Spanish side have been ‘moving quietly’ and sounding out their interest to the players’ entourage.

An agreement is not thought to have been reached between Endrick and Los Blancos at this stage, though it has been claimed that both parties have become ‘very close’ recently. The club are expected to travel to Sao Paulo this week to do their due diligence on the player and his background before tabling an offer.

The news will certainly spark offers from elsewhere, with PSG reportedly already showing their hand with a bid of €20m, though that is half of what Palmeiras are expected to demand for their academy graduate – who will be unable to move to Europe until 2024 due to his age. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea make their interest in the star more concrete soon too or remain coy until the January transfer window opens.

Though an offer from Madrid could be all it takes for Endrick to decide where his future lies, with his admiration of Cristiano Ronaldo being a key factor in why he would like to play at the Santiago Bernabeu. He told Marca earlier this year: “It is a club that I have great affection for Cristiano Ronaldo, whom I always followed, with the four Champions Leagues he won there.

“I have a great affection for Real for Cristiano, although I have also looked for things in their history and they are a very good team. It is very gratifying for me to know that they are watching me and witnessing my games, I thank God very much. I have to do more, it’s still not good, I have to give more. I still have a way to go.”
