Richard Keys says Ten Hag is ‘tin pot tough guy’ and could be sacked this week
Erik ten Hag has been labelled a "tin pot tough guy" by Richard Keys – who reckons he could even be sacked by Manchester United this week.
The Red Devils boss was the focus of the controversial beIN Sports host's weekly blog after the 3-0 derby defeat to Man City on Sunday (October 29). United will be looking to bounce back in their Carabao Cup fourth round tie at home to Newcastle.
But Keys believes another loss could be the beginning of the end for Ten Hag. He began his post: "Ok. When I called him Erik ten Months it was a little bit harsh, but it was an obvious one wasn’t it?

"And after the weekend capitulation to City – by far the worst Premier League derby performance by any United team – I might not be too far out." Before later adding: "If Newcastle beat them in the Carabao Cup this week Ten Hag might be lucky to survive."
Keys also claimed Ten Hag has lost the dressing room with his personal battles with players. "You can tell that players at Newcastle and Villa would run through brick walls for their coach," he continued.

"That’s not the case at United where the tin pot tough guy has lost his silly fight with [Jadon] Sancho and had to back off from his scandalous treatment of [Harry] Maguire. Both battles cost him dressing room support."
It seems Ten Hag will be given plenty of time to turn around the poor start to the season, despite Keys' suggestions. But his post-match comments have raised concern.
The Dutchman insisted the style of play he enjoyed great success with at Ajax as they reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2019 will "never" be seen at Old Trafford.
"We will never play that football," he said after the game. "Because those were different players. This is also not why I came here. We are playing different football than I showed at Ajax because I have to, because I can't play the same way."
