Cristiano Ronaldo and Sir Alex Ferguson couldn’t contain their disappointment as Manchester City blitzed Manchester United 4-0 in the first half of Sunday’s Premier League clash. The Red Devils have been put to the sword by their fierce rivals. And it looks as though they’re crashing to a third league defeat of the season, with Erik ten Hag powerless to prevent the result at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester United have gone into today’s match with City on a high after winning five of their last six games.
But they’ve endured a horrific first 45 minutes against their fierce rivals, with Guardiola’s side superior in every department.
Phil Foden and Erling Haaland have both bagged braces for City, putting them on course to move to within just one point of Arsenal at the top of the table.
And Ronaldo and Ferguson were both caught on camera looking dejected as the home side ran riot.
United opted to leave Ronaldo out of their starting XI, with the Portugal international on the bench sitting next to Casemiro.

And he looked fed up on the sidelines, with Ronaldo also later snapped with his head in his hands as though he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
The camera also panned to Ferguson shortly after City’s fourth goal.
And the United legend looked extremely unhappy at seeing his old side so easily carved open, with the Scot wearing a flat expression on his face.
The Red Devils have now fallen 4-0 down in two Premier League matches so far this season.
Like in their crushing defeat to Brentford back in August, there seems to be no sign of the Red Devils being able to turn things around.

The Glazers have five reasons to sell Man Utd
Pundits have been digesting the game so far on Sky Sports.
And Roy Keane thinks United are unable to cope with the intensity of City, while also calling out Christian Eriksen for failing to stop Foden for the fourth goal.
“No. I don’t want to take any of the goals. I’m shocked at how poor Manchester United have been, City excellent,” he said.
“The way the game starts, no aggression, you’ve got to close it down, you give Manchester City that much time and space with their quality, it’s far far too easy.
“No aggression, stop the cross, Eriksen sleeping, Foden goes off the back of him, one touch finish.

“Foden’s movement, this is early in the game, no aggression, force them back, United just didn’t start well.
“Eriksen’s in a good position – I know it’s not his strength – but just switches off. Worse start ever for United.
“At this stage the games getting stretched [4-0], certainly not suiting Manchester United.
“Eriksen here, you’ve got to foul him, foul him, make the sacrifice, he fouls him too late.
“United all over the place, space everywhere, Haaland great pass, brilliant from Foden. It’s absolutely brilliant.
“Man United, oh my god, it’s like the games too big for them, the occasions almost got to the players, I can’t believe what I’m watching.”
