The transfer rumour mill is in overdrive now that the January window is open, with the Premier League's top teams all linked with new recruits.
Arsenal are expected to strengthen after recently reversing a poor run of form, while Chelsea have also been in a slump and could spend again.
Liverpool and Manchester United could both do with defensive reinforcements – but the Red Devils are also being linked with young attacking players from across the world as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to build for the future.
One of their reported targets is Erling Haaland – but City could beat their rivals to the striker's signature. And plenty of stars are also being linked with moves away from the Premier League.
Here, Daily Star Sport rates and slates the latest transfer gossip.
Rumours we rate
Man City to beat Man Utd to Haaland
Manchester City could beat rivals United to the signing of Erling Haaland – with the help of Jadon Sancho.
City sold Sancho to Dortmund in 2017 – and according to The Sun, Etihad chiefs believe the 15% sell-on clause included in the deal could help them land his team-mate.
Dortmund value Sancho at around £120million – but City could agree to waive the fee, saving the Bundesliga club around £18m.
That could hand Pep Guardiola's side a crucial advantage in negotiations to sign hotshot striker Haaland.
Daily Star says: 8/10 – City need to find a successor to Sergio Aguero, and their financial might could help to persuade Haaland, whose dad Alf-Inge played for the Blues.
Man Utd battle PSG for Romain Faivre
Manchester United are reportedly ready to rival Paris-Saint Germain for highly-rated midfielder Romain Faivre.
The 22-year-old has played in all 19 of Brest's Ligue 1 matches this season, starting all but one of them – and has also chipped in with four goals and three assists.
And his performances have attracted the attention of the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, who will take on PSG for his signature, according to Le10Sport.
Daily Star says: 7/10 – United are well stocked for midfielders, but Faivre appears to fit with the club's strategy of targeting talented young players.
Rumours we don't rate
Arsenal urged to complete "very clever signing" in January transfer window
Serie A side target Tierney
Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney is a target for Napoli, according to The Telegraph.
Tierney has been one of the Gunners' standout players this season, and is attracting interest from outside north London.
Among his admires are the Naples side, who missed out on Tierney before his move from Celtic to the Emirates in 2019.
Napoli reportedly accept that landing Tierney is unlikely at the moment – but are keeping him on their radar for the future.
Daily Star says: 3/10 – There's every reason to believe Gennaro Gattuso’s side would be keen on Tierney, but is being marked out for a bright future ahead of him at Arsenal – and if he were to leave he would set his sights higher than Napoli.
Valencia's nod to Winks
Valencia have made Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks their No1 target in the January transfer window, according to the Mail on Sunday.
The publication reports that the La Liga side have already had one loan bid rejected but are preparing an improved offer to take him for the rest of the season.
Valencia boss Javi Gracia is said to be a big fan of the 24-year-old from his time managing Watford in the Premier League.
Winks struggled for domestic game time earlier in the season, although he did feature regularly in the Europa League and has recently won back a place in Jose Mourinho's starting line-up.
Daily Star says: 4/10 – Despite his lack of action earlier in the campaign, Winks is an important player for Spurs with the club still in the hunt for trophies on four fronts.
